In the Middle aged age group, its the women who more commonly initiate the divorce proceedings because they have no longer any use for the man. She has had her children from him, they have been raised so there is no point in sticking around anymore. She would be better off on her own in exploring the world and living her remaining years on her own terms instead of being tied down to her husband.
