After the goal by Foligno, things went due south for some reason. Instead of the sens being energized the Penguins were. For a moment after the first goal I thought this game is ours but the momentum changed before I could gasp. The fans were not nearly as loud as they needed to be, there were several empty seats, due to the extra seats that were added. Only two teams in history have ever come out of a 3-0 hole, if we play the way we did in the first period, we could be the third.
All praise Alfie, for coming out even though he was clearly injured, he avoided all physical contact. He got a few good chances in the first period when we were swarming over the pens net. Volchenkov, what a guy he is – with that bone crunching hit against Malkin but I don’t think he would like to be a candidate for captaincy as long as Alfie is around.
My Christmas wish list this year:
1. Two puck-moving defensemen - Mark Streit(Montreal)
2. One solid goalie - Brian Elliot, Pascal Leclaire
3. Another top 6 forward - Corey Perry(Anaheim), Patrick Sharp(CBHawks), PM Bouchard(Minnesota), Brian Rolston(Minnie), Jay Pandolfo(NJ), Vaclav Prospal(Philly),
4. A healthy team
5. Defensively responsible grinders - Winchester, O'brien
6. Leaves not making playoffs
7. Habbies getting back to being a sucky team.
Not necessarily in the same order……….
"Obviously, he wasn't at full speed, you can see that. But if anyone ever questions Daniel Alfredsson's character or anything else again, I think I might approach them somehow in an unkind manner - let's put it that way."
- Bryan Murray on Alfredsson
This is what i have to comment on Maple Leafs fans:
Whats up with these Leaflets? Your Freakin' team hasn't even made the playoffs for three consecutive years.
You bunch of losers come to a Senators article and begin by proclaiming that you are a 'Leafs fan' and then go on to give your ' expert' opinions on other teams.
Why don't you born losers do yourself a favor and get the h*ell back to the place where you will be when you don't make the playoffs again next year! and when you are done that Why don't you go give your expert opinion in 'blowing up' your st*upid team and starting from scratch and not making playoffs for another 5 years because guess what? win or lose the sens have one of the best core players in the NHL. Now that they are coming to Ottawa they will do better. They came from behind to erase a 3-0 deficit in this game! When was the last time your team did that?
Now why don't you get the hell out of Ottawa Senators article and catch up on Matt Sundin's fishing escapades in Sweden - THIRD YEAR IN A ROW?
GO SENS GO!
Sens have made it into the playoffs by some luck and by the skin of their teeth. In the first game of the playoffs They lost 4-0 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Several players are injured. Things are not looking good. They will have to do better if they want to make it to round 2 of the playoffs.
